Mixtapes: Gucci Mane- The Coldwar Series
Gucci dropped 3 mixtapes yesterday of all new material. Pretty much more of the same from the man that seems to become the Lil Wayne of 09 in terms of feature appearances. I'll say this, Gucci makes 'em dance, and his flow is hittin at the moment. He doesn't have much variety in what he talks about, but he has somehow managed to build himself up to be one of the hottest MC's in the game (MTV or not), there is no denying that
Christina Milian- Supersonic (ft The Dream)
Terrius Nash is one lucky man, especially if C-Milli does have that 'Supersonic' as she alludes in this song. Nonetheless, this one is HOTTT...Once again proving The Dreams ability to turn nothing (talent wise) into something...Check it

Young Jezzy- I Got This
Jeezy makes hits. Period. Lyrically has improved, he makes sure to pick top-notch production (something that would seem so easy, but appears to be quite difficult for many for some odd reason), and has been at it a lot longer then most would have guessed. Flow is undoubedtly one of the tops in the game..say I'm wrong??????

Sorry I've been so sporadic with the posting lately, but I'm still adjusting to life in The A. Back @ it tho w/ a new joint from Ursha, goin in (apparently) at his ex wife Tameka. Definitely a heart felt, 'Burn'-esque, ballad, but not sure its '1st single worthy.' Album Review: Trey Songz- Ready
Well its clear that right now, the boy Songz is doing his thing. He's tearing it up w/ his remixes of current songs, and that Anticipation mixtape might as well be a modern day 12 play. The long awaited 'Ready' is Trey's 3rd studio album and undoubedtly his best to date. Songz seems to have found his lane, a good group of producers, and is quite in touch w/ what his fans WANT. While he's not ur Usher/Chris Brown dancer r&b guy, or ur Mario 'sing me to sleep cuz Im so SWEET' type either. He makes good 'bedroom' songz, good 'want u back' songs, etc and does it w/ the flair of a dude from the streets (if thats possible for an R&B cat). Im NOT posting the whole album, or even multiple songz, b/c you SHOULD go and support 'Ready' on Sept 1st, u won't be disappointed. Here's a panty droppa for ur troubles

CD: Fabolous- Loso's Way
I've always felt like Fab was underrated and didnt get the respect as a lyrycist that he deserved. Homeboi's punch lines are witty and creative, metaphors are tight, and if longevity counts for anything (i.e. Twista), Fab has been around since the late 90's (yeah, its been that long). Loso's Way is more or the same from Fab, and thats not a bad thing. Production is pretty solid throughout, and with help from Ryan Leslie, Ne-yo, Lil Wayne, Keri Hilson, and Trey Songz, so are the features...Here are some stand out joints..Go get the album when it comes out in stores 7/28

CD: Maxwell- BlackSummersNight
Maxwell FINALLY returns after a 7yr music hiatus and has not lost a step. BlackSummersNight is more of the same from the crooner, which definitely is not a bad thing. Very soulful, heartfelt lyrically, and the kind of music that I like to call 'mood music.' In a time where synethesized music is in excess, its good to hear some live instrumentation, free of the use of auto-tune and other modernized sounds.

I heard some rumors that MC's first single 'Obcessed' off of her upcoming album was gonna be going at Eminem, and sure enough, its pretty clear she is. After disappointing sales on her last effort, we'll have to see if Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel brings Mariah back. The Dream and Tricky Stewart are the executive producers, so we'll see
